About Paul E. Rendel
His aviation paintings have been featured at museums and shows across the U.S. Most recently, his work has won awards at the E.A.A. (Experimental Aircraft Association) Aviation Center Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconson and the Simuflite "Horizons of Flight" exhibition in Dallas, Texas. He is a past president of the American Society of Aviation Artists, a member of the New York Society of Illustrators and the Air Force Program. Paul Rendel's early training at the Detroit Institute of Arts, his 30 years of experience in art studios and his work as a free-lance artist have enabled him to excel in combining technical knowledge with artistic quality. His main hobby is carving aged lumber into wood sculptures, including elaborate full-size birds of prey. An additional outlet for Rendel's energy is his zest for flying in his Thorp T-18. This provides both relaxation and first-hand experience for his popular aviation paintings. He continues to do commissions, happy in fulfilling the needs of customers |
